The Historical Work and Thought of Tormod Torfæus (1636–1719)
Anna Grøgaard holds an MA in History from the University of Oslo. She has previously studied Renaissance humanist networks in post-Reformation Norway, the Scandinavian counter-Reformation, and early modern Danish-Norwegian historiography. Her PhD project is a knowledge historical study of the work of Tormod Torfæus based on the three positions he held at the Danish court during his life, as translator of antiquities, antiquary, and historiographer for Norway.
