Prof. Dr. Lena Rohrbach

Lena Rohrbach is professor of Scandinavian studies at the Universities of Basel and Zurich. She has over the past ten years focused on critical approaches to the premodern Icelandic and Norwegian textual corpus that question notions of stable works, author attributions, genres and established datings of works and texts which build on prominent research paradigms that have been perpetuated in Old Norse scholarship. Her methodological departure point is material-philological, textual and mediological analyses of the medieval and late-premodern Icelandic manuscript transmission.
